A sci-fi fantasy survival game with a lot of soul, Nimoyd - Survival Sandbox has players surviving in the wild future of 2702. Explore a massive, randomly generated world where possibilities are almost endless, as you play the game whichever way you prefer, and explore the many locations unique to your adventure.

Featuring some impressive 2.5D visuals, this is one of the prettiest survival games we’ve seen so far. The inclusion of some terrain modification mechanics and dungeon exploring makes us think about another cube-based title. That said, what this title achieves is something that very few survival games have come close to achieving.

Heroic Survival

Before you crashland on the Earth of the future, you’ll have to choose your character. While every character is entirely customizable, you’ll have to base them on a hero archetype. From normal humans to mythological creatures, the type of hero you choose defines which play style will suit you better.

Characters have personality modifiers that affect how they perform certain tasks. Similar to Rimworld, the characters in Nimoyd can be “brave” or “lazy,” something that can negatively affect your chances of survival. That said, no matter how your character begins their journey, they can be upgraded via the game’s robust skill tree system.

The best thing about survival in Nimoyd is that you don’t need to be alone, as you can invite your friends to play together in your world. Additionally, you can join other public worlds and go on adventures with other survivors to turn the game into the closest thing to a real MMORPG survival game.

Lovely Visuals

In a world of similar-looking survival games, Nimoyd - Survival Sandbox manages to look familiar yet unique in its own way. The basic inspiration of Minecraft is plain to see, what with the cube-based landscape and buildings. However, the crisp pixel art and beautifully detailed environments put Nimoyd in a league of its own.

The dimly lit dungeons are a sight to behold, especially when multiple adventurers are casting lights from different light sources. Even better is that the character designs look simply amazing. Enemies look varied and positively alien, while the heroes you play as are undeniably charming.

Life Simulation

Much like life simulation games in the same vein as Stardew Valley, players must interact with multiple NPCs to forge alliances and to form a society. These NPCs are randomly generated, much like the cities they inhabit.

More than simply talking to them and exchanging resources, you’ll be able to establish meaningful relationships with these characters. One key aspect of interacting with NPCs is that you’ll eventually be able to form your own dynasty. Have children, build houses, and expand your borders, as you try to return some semblance of normalcy to an alien Earth.

All things considered, Nimoyd - Survival Sandbox seems to be on the right track to becoming one of the most complete survival games available. The fact that it’s constantly updated with new content is just the cherry on top of this ever-growing game. When a game is as good as this one, it would take a whole lot of effort to find something to complain about.
