But rarely if ever we get into any specific roles of that career line. But this title comes to change this, and of course, it is another simulation game. There's just something about indie-made sim games that hit different you know? Riot Control Simulator is the name of this game. Of course, the title already gives it away, but what exactly goes into a sim game like this? Well, let's talk about this title developed by Corpix Games and published by Ultimate Games S.A.

About the game

Our role in this game is clear, to offer resistance to a large crowd using the methods we believe necessary at any given moment. The country has taken to the streets after a dictatorship, but the law is the law, right? The game has its own story and is set in a democratic country on the verge of collapse due to social unrest and politics. There will be complaints from the citizens and the player must try to use formations to keep the city in control. And even infiltrate the crowds to stop the main agitators.

You will have to keep the people of the city safe, which is a difficult task as violence leads to more violence. Also, if you "go too far" the angry masses will let you know and will defend themselves more aggressively; Molotov cocktails, rocks, and sticks will be a huge threat. Your defense will be your truncheon and shield, your companions, and a heavy vehicle.

During the fights we will not be alone, we will have a team under our command with which we can create tactics for the next moves. A compact formation can easily restrict the movement of people or capture aggressive ones and arrest them. Use provocation and infiltrate the crowd to catch the leaders.

A little too soon?

In this game, we take on the role of a riot control officer, and we have to do a lot of work in that position. Sure, in games like L.A Noire we play as a police officer that gets to be a detective as he ascends in the department. We know what is like to play the game by the book, in a pretty literal sense of the word.

But unlike that game or even games like SWAT, this title does have a lot of political themes, and the game is also pretty biased. It’s interesting to see a title like this if considering it is a heated subject at the moment.
