Sims 4 Seasons

In Sims 4: Seasons, seasonal activities, weather, and holidays are brought to the game. If realism is important to you, than changing weather obviously makes a big difference in how realistic the game is. Of course, like most sims expansions there’s more to it than just a little snow or rain. Sims 4: Seasons also provides room for endless avenues of new entertainment.

Introducing holidays

This expansion of Sims 4 adds Christmas, Thanksgiving, “Love Day” and more to what your sim can experience. In order for these holidays to be successful, you need to meet certain criteria. The house needs to be decorated, a feast needs to be held, and other sims need to be invited. These goals can be edited to fit the personality of the sim, so if you have a sim that prefers to be alone you can change out socializing with drinking as a holiday goal.

If these goals are met, it will boost your sims stats. This is the basic theme of the holidays, but Maxis developed these holidays for an extra degree of fun. As an example, “Father Christmas” appears on Christmas to give out presents, but if you try your sim can actually date him! A hot romance with Santa is a pretty hilarious way to end Christmas, but it’s possible in this expansion. In another scenario, the game invites sims to offer candy to gnomes—but if you break the gnomes instead, you’ll be haunted the rest of the day.

New reactions to environment

Holidays aren’t the only new addition. Your sim will also react to the weather by getting cold in the winter, frightened during thunderstorms, and hot on a summer day. You can help by adjusting the thermostat or sending your sim to the park for a water balloon fight. If the weather is rainy, the only way to keep your sim dry is to set up an umbrella stand, and make sure your sim has an umbrella in his inventory. If they have an umbrella, they’ll take care of themselves in that regard.

Tons of new items

Along with the new seasons and holidays, this expansion also brings along tons of new clothing and other items. There’s even a kiddie pool to help sims cool off during summer. There’s also lots of tiny details that once again add to the experience, such as the sim’s breath misting in winter, or grossed out sims taking showers more often in summer.

Altogether, this expansion goes a long way to making the game much more realistic and fun, which is after all what the game is about.
