Tatsunoko vs Capcom was a fighting game crossover that was highly anticipated by Capcom fans. The game puts together characters from Capcom, and from various anime characters that were produced by Tatsunoko Production. The game was originally released only in Japan, but fans from all over the world demanded to play the game, Capcom was able to resolve some international licensing problems and was able to release an International version of the game.

Ready, Fight!

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate Stars, puts players to fight with a team of two characters, or with a single giant character. The game is set in a 2D environment, but all characters and backgrounds are rendered in three-dimensional graphics. This is similar to games like Marvel vs Capcom, and Capcom vs SNK. One of the greatest aspects of the game is that not only is it approachable for newcomers, but it also has in-depth mechanics for players who want to dive deeper into the game.

The game was released back in 2008, but it still holds up really well. The graphics are still charming, and the soundtrack is amazing. The game has been extremely well received by both critics and players, and it even made its way to a couple of EVOS. Your objective, like in most fighting games, is to fight against your opponent and deplete his health bar. To do that, you must use all kinds of combos and special abilities. You can also tag attacks to deal even more damage.

When playing the game, you can choose different types of controllers to use. You can use the classic controller, the GameCube controller, the Wii remote, and if you can even plug in an arcade stick. All of these can be used to play the game just for fun, or for more experienced and veteran players. Like most fighting games, every character in the game has a unique skill set and combos that you can learn. To be able to use the abilities, you just need to perform certain specific inputs.

Game Modes

In the Wii version of the game, you can play Arcade Mode, where you must pick a fighter, and fight against the CPU until you reach the boss fight. Time Attack and Survival mode can only be selected after you defeat every character in the game. In Survival, you must deal with the fact that your health regeneration is limited, and in Time mode, you must do your best to defeat your opponents as fast as you can. There is also the good old Versus Mode, where you face-off against your friends, and in Original Games, up to four players compete in specific character’s mini-games.

But the Ultimate All-Stars version of the game doesn’t have the Original Games mode but instead offers a shooter mini-game that takes place in the Lost World world. This version always has an online mode, so that you can play against all types of players.

Overall

If you like cross-over fighting games like Street Fighter vs Tekken, and Marvel vs Capcom, you will for sure have tons of fun when playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars.
