Tower of God

Tower of God: New World is the latest game produced by NetMarble. This a collecting RPG game where you work to get new characters in a gatcha style format. It’s based on a popular anime and Webtoon series available online.

Information on Tower of God: New World is still very limited. This game is not to be confused with a very similar one called Tower of God: Great Journey which released in February. There is a lot of confusion surrounding this game due to these two similar releases. So far, Netmarble has revealed basic features of the game. Here’s what we’ve learned so far.

Artwork Will Be True to Characters

One of the specific aspects mentioned by NetMarble and revealed by the trailer is that the artwork will remain true to the characters. It can be a shock to look forward to a game based on your favorite characters, only to find out that they look nothing like the faces you have come to know and love. The trailer reveals beautifully sketched out and animated characters, so hopefully we can expect more of the same in the completed game.

The game has unmistakable similarities to Genshin Impact, which was the beginning of a series of similar games.

Exciting Content

The game follows the Webtoon story, but offers a behind the scenes action with new story. There is very little to go on outside of the trailer, but based on the trailer it looks like it won’t be turn based. Instead, it looks like battles will be mostly automated.

Release date, first quarter 2023?

In a twitter comment, Tower of God: Great Journey listed games scheduled to be released, and New World is listed for the first half of the year. No precise release date was listed after that, but based off this we can assume it will be released by June.

Preregistration is available on TapTap, but that’s as far as the game has come so far.

Visibly better than Great Journey

With two similarly named and closely released games, it’s difficult not to take some time to compare the two. Tower of God: Great Journey was recently released, but players are already saying it stands no chance against this new, upcoming game. New Journey appears to be packed with action, and has a great deal of new material going for it. We can look forward to this amazing new game coming some time in the first half of 2023.

Fans of the anime and Webtoon are breathless with excitement for this new game. One of many, many games being released by NetMarble right now, this game truly stands out from the others. If you like RPG gatcha games, this one is an exciting new option.
