I am a huge fan of artsy-fartsy style games and Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery is latterly that kind of game! This is a puzzle game with an artistic side to it and while it is the kind of game I feel will be ignored by most, I am sure it is going to be loved by more than a few of us. It is brought to us by Akupara Games who have been nailing it with their smaller story driven games lately.
The Passion Of An Artist
Talking about Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery is something I have to be careful with as I do not want to spoil anything as it is a real experience of a game. The basics here are that we play as this very talented artist and she is working on the last part of her work that she is going to submit to her gallery. As she works, we learn more about her, her life, those around her, and her dreams and fears as well.
I know that this is the kind of thing that many people will roll their eyes at, but I love it. Stories like this are hard to tell in a game, but this is one that I am 100 percent confident is going to absolutely nail it.
The Beauty of Art
This is one of the best-looking games of 2021! Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery is clearly inspired by things like Studio Ghibli movies and it really does show. It has a very fine level of quality to it all. Not just in the cut scenes, but the way that the game looks in the actual “game” parts as well.
I will say that this is a game that you do not have to be a lover of art to appreciate. Just anyone who loves good looking video games is going to be very impressed with this game and the level of animation that brings it all together too.
Paint The Fence
I learned all my painting skills from The Karate Kid, but in Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery you are not painting a fence! Think of this as a puzzle game where you have to use various strokes to bring your masterpiece to life. There are other parts of the game in-between all of this too which ties it all together. I think that the whole game is very clever in its design and those who get it will well and truly get it.
As I said at the start, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery will probably be ignored by many, but I think it is great. The whole idea to the game and the story it is telling is one that I am very interested in. I am not sure exactly how long the game will be or if there will be any kind of replay value. However, I am sure that those who are willing to embrace this will be left very impressed by the experience.
