From a long line of simulator games that have been flooding the industry, and allowing players to live and experience whatever they like comes Builder Simulator. Any gamer who has ever felt the need to create a house from scratch and completely reshape a lot into a home, you’re in for a treat. Developed and published by Live Motion Games with PlayWay S.A., Builder Simulator hasn’t announced an official release date, even if the demo is already available.
Something From Nothing
Builder Simulator is a first-person building game, that allows players complete freedom in designing their own projects. If you have ever played The Sims and spent hours building a house, the experience you’ll have will be similarly compelling if the demo is anything to go by. But here the complexity and detail of craftsmanship actually put players every single step of building a house. From choosing the correct materials to designing projects to managing resources, creating materials, and actually building everything.
The variety of content is one of the best parts of the game since it allows for full immersion. Players who don’t have knowledge of the effort, talent, and insane amount of work that goes into building structures will gain a free crash course. They’ll familiarize themselves with all the different steps, tools, and financial decisions that accompany such projects.
We Shape Our Buildings, Therefore They Shape Us
Builder Simulator is a fun game, it has a specific niche of gamers who’ll be kept engaged for a long time, however, it will entertain almost everyone for a brief period. For an unreleased title, it looks extremely polished, and allows for the freedom players would find in Minecraft, Garry’s Mod, and other simulators, or building games. Builder Simulator also does a great job of guiding the inexperienced through the step-by-step necessary for completion, delivering an accessible experience for anyone willing to give it a shot.
The ultimate experience though relies on the higher difficulties, where the game won’t help or guide you whatsoever. Here veterans players will have the chance to prove their knowledge, but beginners and casual players may never make use of this difficulty, or simply be overwhelmed by it. Again, this is a game aimed towards a very specific type of gamers, either playing for curiosity or for their love of the craft.
Builder Simulator looks promising, fun, and accessible, which is everything you can expect from a game of this genre. Clearly, it has influences from Minecraft, Garry’s Mod, Factorio, House Flipper, The Sims, and other simulators, but it feels unique.
For those who enjoy the genre, are curious, or don’t mind ordinary job simulators, this is a very detailed and step-by-step experience bound to entertain you, at least for a bit. The game hasn’t released a final version so it might feel clunky and rough around the edges sometimes, but overall it seems like an almost finished product with a promising release.
