Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy 7

Chinese game developer Softstar Technology might not be the biggest name in the Asian game developing scene, and to be fair that's one of the toughest markets in the world. But even with that, they do develop a game series that's been going on since 1995, and they're launching the seventh entry for the series this year. We are talking, of course, about Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy 7.

Even though this series isn't really popular over here, in the Chinese market it is a really big deal. It is actually so popular that there are even some spin-off games, and it has expanded beyond that, and it has a TV show version too. It is clearly a really popular game, but what makes it so special, and why hasn't it made it into the more international game scene? Well, let's start by talking about the game a little bit first.

About the game

The Sword and Fairy series is really popular in the Asian market, and now that it has over two and a half decades around, the seventh entry coming up will be a great deal. But even with that, the game hasn't revealed much about the plot, but they've been focusing more on the technical aspect of the game.

Sword and Fairy 7 will have us play a great adventure, centered mostly on the conflicts between humans, demons, and beasts. This is a 3D action RPG, and the combats are third-person real-time combats.

While it may not be as big as the Dragon Quest series or Final Fantasy, this title is expected to be great, and an important one for the series and the developer studio.

Making it worldwide

It's harder than you might think for a game to really make it big in the global scene, they have to be easy to understand for people all over the world to become popular. And we're not talking about having simple storylines or basic development. Games need to work out in different languages and cultures.

And even with that, at the end of the day, marketing is vital for the success of a game. This title has never been really marketed for audiences outside of Asia, and some games fulfill this same target audience, some of them have been around for a long time and are pretty well established already.

Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy 7 is a pretty interesting title, and while it doesn't really look too innovative, the technical aspect of the game is simply beautiful. They are really focusing on showing just how the game implements the incredible ray tracing technology of the Nvidia graphics cards and uses it to get the best possible results in the game.
