CorpoNation: The Sorting Process

It seems like there’s a simulation game for everything now, but CorpoNation: The Sorting Process is an upcoming Steam game with a fresh take. It’s the perfect late-stage capitalism experience we’re all looking for! It’s been developed by indie studio Canteen, and as of writing, it's currently set for release in February 2024! Take your place in this dystopian future, where you get to work, contribute to the corporate economy, and even pay your bills on time, if you’re lucky!

The style of graphics and game concept are familiar to games like Papers, Please, and Hypnospace Outlaw. The dystopian corporate culture is also reminiscent of Outer Worlds, and the corporate planets, and religion. If those concepts and that style of simulation and digital exploration are your thing, then we recommend putting CorpoNation: The Sorting Process on your wishlist!

Dystopian Work Life

CorpoNation: The Sorting Process throws you into what the developers call a “linear dystopian narrative.” You live in a “corporate-owned state," working as a Lab Technician whose sole responsibility is to assess and properly sort genetic samples based on various factors and characteristics. In the trailer, we are encouraged to work hard, put our hard-earned money back into the economy, pay off our bills, and, again, work hard! Here, being the best employee is the best way to survive, but beware! Punks and rebels may start messaging you to try to sway you towards breaking your corporate loyalty.

Feed the Corporate Economy

As you work and sort your genetic samples, you receive payment for a job well done. And what better use of your money than to give it right back to the system to survive and thrive? The game offers customization for your room. Buy items to decorate your room and brighten up your dystopian surroundings. Just make sure your bills are paid!

Maintain a Work-Life Balance

CorpoNation: The Sorting Process understands the importance of balance. In between sorting genetic samples and managing your finances, you’re given a chance to unwind and relax. Climb the leaderboards of “State-Approved” games that offer a welcome escape from the monotony of the lab.

When you’re done, don’t forget to keep up with current events! To navigate the complex web of corporate politics, you are encouraged to stay informed. Engage in conversations, take corporate surveys, and keep up with the latest news. Nothing like a little doom scroll before bed!

Rogue Challenges

Don’t let your corporate loyalty sway! Rogue workers will attempt to recruit you. This forces players to make decisions that could alter the course of their in-game life. The choices you make impact not only your personal story but also the overall fate of this dystopian society. What you choose to do could have great repercussions!
