In President Studio's Crime Scene Cleaner, players are tossed into a world where violence's aftermath becomes your 9-to-5. This ain't your grandma's cleaning simulator; this is a tense, morally ambiguous journey through the seedy underbelly of criminal activity. Players will take on the role of a desperate father looking to fund his daughter's medical treatment, taking on blood-soaked crime scenes, evidence disposal, and loads more ethical dilemmas all on the ticking clock.
Mop, Bucket, and a Moral Compass
But at its core, Crime Scene Cleaner is a game all about attention to detail. Armed with an arsenal of cleaning supplies, players work their way to erase the remnants of brutal crimes in such a way that it ends up being downright satisfying to take a room soaked in blood and turn it into a spotless space-even if the context is grim. Every mission is a kind of puzzle in itself-best ways to approach the cleanup while piecing together more significant plot points.
The interactivity of environments in the game is amazing. It's common to rummage through drawers or shift furniture to reveal hidden items, and each cleaning job became a mini-investigation. This gives some heft to what could be a simple task simulator and keeps players involved well beyond the surface-level cleaning mechanics.
Moral Dilemmas in a Gray World
Where the real difference is made by Crime Scene Cleaner, though, lies in its storytelling depth. And indeed, while put through increasingly challenging scenarios, there's moral decisions to be made that will turn the tide of how the story unfolds. Do you pocket that incriminating evidence to protect your client or leave it with the authorities? All of these decisions finally add weight to your actions, giving meaning to more than just the game's tasks.
That sense of desperation permeates the narrative of a father and adds an extra layer of emotional tension to the balance of some rather darker themes present in the game. It's a smart framing device that justifies the descent of this protagonist into this shadowy world.
Compared to other cleaning games such as Powerwash Simulator, Crime Scene Cleaner is actually a radically different experience. While the core of both games lies in restoration, Crime Scene Cleaner trades in meditative relaxation for nail-biting tension. It's less about the zen of cleaning and more about the thrill of covering up a crime.
Review: 8/10
It's bold, but it has paid off: Crime Scene Cleaner isn't afraid to get down and dirty with a true amalgamation of simulation gameplay and story-driven decision-making. The attention to detail in replicating the crime scenes is immaculate, at times even somewhat disturbing. The sound design amplifies this tension, with every creak and ambient noise putting players on edge.
But it does have its rough edges. The learning curve can be quite steep with early missions likely to frustrate players getting used to the different cleaning tools and techniques. For some, too, the subject matter can also be a little too dark and disturbing for extended play.
While a few of these small trips hold Crime Scene Cleaner back from perfection, the title still manages to challenge anyone who decides to put themselves into its harsh concept. It's a game that haunts you after putting down the controller and forces you to question the moral grey areas left by the criminal world and desperation.
Pros:
- Very original and intriguing premise
- Beautifully detailed and interactive environments
- Morally grey storyline with meaningful choices
- Satisfying cleaning mechanics
- Well-crafted sound design complements atmosphere
Cons:
- Mature themes might not be to everyone's taste
- Later missions in the game feature repetitive activities
- Some plot threads are not well fleshed out

Crime Scene Cleaner is a simulation of the most unremarkable man, on whom, however, much depends. A single father after a criminal record has difficulties with money. However, there is a special way for such needy people. The Mafia has a special offer for you. Not every negotiation ends with a simple conversation. Your task will be to clean up the bloody aftermath of the mob's affairs. Manage to clean up before the police arrive and your kids might even have enough to go to college.
Pros of the game:
