Escape The Pacific

Fans of sandbox and open-world survival sims have definitely heard of a game called Escape The Pacific. It hit early access back in early 2018 and managed to attract the attention of a large number of users.

In November 2022, the developers from Gamers4Gamers Team studio, who are also distributing the game themselves, released an impressive update of their creation. Now Escape The Pacific is much different from the first version and even looks a lot better. However, so far the creators of the project are not ready to answer the question when the survival game will get to the release.

The Adventures of a Modern Robinson Crusoe

In many ways, the project resembles Bermuda – Lost Survival, Raft and Stranded Deep. The main character in it finds himself on a desert island in the Pacific. And the main task of the character is to survive.

Plot Escape The Pacific has almost never been revealed. The creators are in no hurry to come up with a story and focused on working out the game mechanics and available options. At the moment the only thing known about the protagonist is that he is on a small desert island in the middle of the tropical or equatorial Pacific. His first priority is to:

• Obtain sustenance
• Craft tools and implements
• Build a dwelling

After completing the primary tasks, the gamer will have to focus on the rescue from the island. To do this, he'll need to build a raft or other watercraft. With the help of homemade rafts and boats the main character will be able to explore neighboring islands, gain access to new types of resources and even leave the uninhabited archipelago.

What to expect in the future?

For now, Escape The Pacific has very few options and features available. However, it is already clear that the world is randomly generated, and three modes will be available upon release:

• Story
• Challenges
• Sandbox

So far it is possible to launch only the last option. In the sandbox it is possible to get acquainted with all available game mechanics. This includes crafting items, building shelters and boats, extraction of food and more.

With the development of the project, the developers promise to add new unique features. This is the ability to play over the network, storyline on the passage, full-fledged construction and exploration of the surrounding islands in sandbox mode.

Advantages and disadvantages

It's still incorrect to compare Escape The Pacific with Stranded Deep and other counterparts, as it is not entirely clear what the game will be after the final release. So far, the obvious pluses of the project are:

• Cute visuals
• Randomly generated objects
• A large number of features, from exploring the world around you to crafting

The main drawback of the project is its too slow development. Although the developers recently updated the game menu, reworked the Time-Flow system, added new types of locations and coastal waves, it is still not clear what the game will be after the early access.
