Get Together: A Coop Adventure

The fact that Get Together A Coop Adventure is a game that has to be played with a friend is what really drew me to it. Well, this and the cartoon style of the visuals that it has. This is a journey where cooperation and working together for one common goal is key. It is a truly interesting concept and I love it when games take a risk like this and try something that is a bit different from what we are all used to.

Two Parts Of Me

The plot of the game is about an explorer who somehow got split into two parts of themselves. I think this whole premise is very interesting and a huge part of what is going to make people attracted to Get Together A Coop Adventure. Each part of this explorer is an explorer in their own right, but they only have access to half of each area, puzzle, and so on. The worlds that you are both in are similar, but there are some key differences.

Two Devices, Two People, Two Ways Forward

The idea of the game is that you both play on a different device. One will be playing on a computer for example and the other on an iPad, a phone, or whatever. You do not get the whole experience and you have to communicate with each other telling each other what you see. Each of you only has access to half of a puzzle or half of something else and by communicating you can get the whole picture. It is the kind of thing that is hard to explain and it will certainly take a while to get used to, but once you guys get into a groove, you will see why so many people are into what Get Together A Coop Adventure is offering.

Bringing Adventure To Life

What captured my attention at first was the incredible visuals. I have to say that this is one fantastic looking game. Our little explorer is all black, but it is done in a very vibrant kind of way that really makes them stand out from the very well-designed backgrounds. The different areas that you are in are similar, but also different. What one of you sees will need to be described so that the other player can progress. Part of the reason this works so well is because of how well detailed and clear it all is. I know this is a cliché, but Get Together A Coop Adventure is a game that does look like a cartoon or even a picture book that has come to life.

This is an adventure/puzzle game that is very special and I have a feeling it could creep onto more than a few games of the year lists. There are just not many other coop games like this one that offer what this one does and in such an amazing style as well.

Pros:

• This is one of the most interesting coop games to be released this year
• It looks like a Cartoon Network show
• The way you solve puzzles is very clever
• I really like the premise and story of the game

Cons:

• Not sure how much replay value there will be here
• I do worry that the game may be ignored by the majority which would be a real shame
