Hunt: Showdown - Commedia Della Morte

If you are looking for a way to expand upon the classic Hunt: Showdown experience, then new release Hunt: Showdown - Commedia Della Mort might be just what you are looking for. This new DLC pack includes a new Legendary Hunter, a pair of new Legendary Weapons, and a new Legendary Consumable. That’s a lot of legends in the one pack – but does it live up to the name, or is this a myth of an upgrade?

A small update to an already large title

First thing is first, Hunt: Showdown - Commedia Della Mort does not really add anything too new to the Hunt experience. If you have enjoyed this title until now, though, you might finally be looking for a bit of extra freshness in the weaponry that you can use. This is why this new release might be worth considering for a lot of users.

The new weapons, a Winfield M1873C Marksman and a Sparks Pistol, are pretty intriguing. The new Hunter, Scaramuccia, is also quite intriguing. They carry a mask that can fool friend or foe alike, with the three-headed mask always concealing the way the individual looks. This makes it harder for other players to know quite what you are doing. That in itself is pretty cool.

It would be fair to say, though, that the latest DLC probably does not live up to more respected releases such as Hunt: Showdown – The Lawless. There is some decent content in here, but perhaps not enough to be worth the expense for those who are still getting to grips with the Hunt: Showdown gameplay loop.

An interesting, if lacking, new DLC (6.5/10)

The hunter that has been added is very much an interesting addition to the title. They are a good progression for those who prefer to go down the more phantom route of playing. The distinctive design also stands out, too, making the new Hunter one of the most unique looking of all of the DLC characters. That being said, the actual new weaponry is decent and no more.

If you are looking at buying some DLC for Hunt: Showdown then you might find some of the other offerings are more respectable. It’s an interesting enough DLC that adds another bit of lore and depth, but there isn’t enough freshness in here to really make this a worthwhile purchase if this is your sole DLC.

Like most DLCs that you get for Hunt: Showdown, this adds a bit of extra depth to the character selection. The level of detail is nice, but it does not really add anything new to the gameplay loop. Given the price, though, you might find that you can get a generally more high-value return by buying two or three of the older DLCs first.
