Moon Village offers players the chance to create their own colony on the moon, as scary as those sound. This title has players travel to the silver globe and establish a base there in the interests of human advancement. This will be no easy task; players must face the many dangers of space and figure out a way to survive in one of the most naturally hostile environments for lightyears around. Let’s get into it.

You know what? I’m really pleased that there is a game like this coming out. From what I can see, there are no big, scary alien creatures that you must constantly fight against. No story that isn’t the one you carve out for yourself as you battle the elements and decide exactly how you are going to accomplish this mission.
Based on the real Moon Village Mission, it is your job to venture out and build launch rockets, construct space stations located in the moons orbit, create the new vehicle prototypes being designed by real space companies. This game could turn out to be an astoundingly interesting caper into space with shocking realism. Likely to be a first-person game with in depth building mechanics, it could function a bit like Space Engineers.
Your whole purpose is to create the village, a colony on another world that acts as a foothold in humanities first step into space. It feels like it has potential to be either a very lonely game, a very inspiring game, or both.
Unfortunately, no gameplay footage has yet been released for this title. However, from what we’ve seen from this company before in game like HERO: Flood Rescue, Flipper Mechanic and House Designer, we are likely looking at something good. SimFabric have an excellent attention to detail with the games they create, I’m always blown away by how crisp and clean everything looks at all times. I have no doubt that this game will be any different.
From what we’ve seen in promotional art and what we’ve heard in regards to what to expect, there is a large chance that players will be spending a significant amount of time on the moon alone. That could be one of the best choices that they could make. The feeling of isolation, of responsibility that is mounted on the player to ensure humanities success.
They could turn that into a really powerful feeling that keep fuel in the thrusters of all those playing. It’s highly unlikely that it will be multiplayer, so the chance of it being lonely and awe inspiring are very high.
This title could be absolute brilliance when it comes out. An ambient dream that takes the ideas and concerns surrounding space travel to new heights. I’m very excited for it.
