Phoenotopia Awakening

Phoenotopia: Awakening is a side-scrolling puzzle adventure game where the player becomes a child in a world where aliens have abducted all the adults.

Plot

Phoenotopia Awakening is the ruins of a world where a big war used to rage. Everything has been destroyed and people have taken refuge underground to survive and wait for the moment when the surface is livable. The monsters that flattened all the settlements and stole the adults are long gone and civilization is out of exile. Gale, that is the name of the protagonist, has grown up in a world already restored. He embarks on a long journey to learn more about the mysterious war of the past.

Gameplay

The player will enter a pixelated two-dimensional world. Gale will explore dark knowledge, dusty cities, hot deserts, damp forests and flooded caves to solve a major mystery. The locations to be traversed are filled with puzzles and enemies.

Phoenotopia: Awakening is a challenging game. You'll have to move crates to the right place, run away from boars, shoot a tumbleweed, catch fish, roast food on the fire, throw a bomb and activate levers. To run away from boulders, become a real rock climber and kill a six-foot lizard. To keep your health level at all times, you'll have to get food. Besides health, there is an endurance bar in the left top corner of the screen.

Puzzles play an important role in the game. Some puzzles require a certain improvement or weapon, so if something is missing, you will have to go back. The player will be able to talk to different NPCs. The pundits have a lot to say. Dialogues are the strong point of Phoenotopia: Awakening.
