The Gunk

In The Gunk, you get to play as a ravager called Rani, and you’re accompanied by your friend Beck. After arriving on a planet to gather resources and plants, you find out that some weird parasite is corrupting this world, and this black slime that is known as the gunk, is harming this planet's environment, and you now feel it is your responsibility to rid this planet of this plague. You are equipped with a glove that allows you to suck this gunk, and you must now begin to heal this planet.

Clean The Planet

After arriving on this planet, you come to find out that this won’t be like every other scavenger job you’ve been on. This planet is filled with a black-slime parasite known as the gunk, and it is harming the planet’s wildlife and environment.

So as a scavenger, you feel the need to rid this planet of this gunk, and bring it back to its original state, and to do that, you will need to use your power glove, which allows you to suck this gunk. Doing that will slowly restore the planet to its original state. However, this won’t be an easy task, as you will also have to fight against monsters that have been corrupted by the gunk.

Two ravagers are on this planet, Rani and Beck, and players will take control of Rani. Rani’s plan is to save this world from this corruption, but for some mysterious reason, Beck doesn’t agree with him, and some distrust starts to happen between these two. So you must be careful, as the gunk might not be the only thing that will cause you trouble. While exploring this dangerous planet, you will also evolve your relationship with your crew.

Explore The Planet

The Gunk is a game that will reward players for exploring everything, and as you start to clean this parasite-infested planet, and return it to its original state, you will start to uncover more about this planet. And as you explore this planet, you will also keep in contact with your partner, Beck, through a radio, also, when alone, the game offers an amazing soundtrack that will help further immerse players in the game. You will come across all different types of places, and each area will have different things for you to discover, so don’t be scared to explore everything.

Summary

If you’re into games like Ratchet and Clank, then you might even enjoy The Gunk even more, as it seems the game will have a stronger focus on its narrative. The game does rely mostly on its exploration, but at times you will have to face enemies, and solve some puzzles to be able to get rid of the corruption.
