Winning Post 9 2021

Despite not being a horse racing fan, Winning Post 9 2021 had something about it that looked pretty cool to me. It was not so much the actual horse racing and winning titles that appealed to me, but the running of a ranch that can produce a legion of prize winning horses. It is a very deep game and certainly not for people who are not willing to put in the work, but I think there is something very cool here and that is coming from someone whose knowledge of horse racing is basic at best!

Racing Through The Ages

One of the most interesting things about Winning Post 9 2021 is that at the start of your game, you have to pick a year you want to start in. The years in question are, 1984, 1991, 1998, 2005, and 2022. No to me, someone who is ignorant of the world of horse racing this means nothing. However, for those of you who do have an interest in the history of horse racing, this is really cool.

Each year is themed around the prized and best horses of that era and I am sure you horse racing history buffs will get a kick out of that. However, if you pick 2022, things start from scratch and you get to shape the future of horse racing.

Managing The Farm And The Studs

I am kind of at a loss for words in regards to talking about the ranching aspect of Winning Post 9 2021, but this was what initially drew me to the game. You can select from different areas to run your ranch and then you have to get to work in making sure things are ship shape. You will eventually become a horse; owner breeder and trainer and you get to deal with other people and try to keep things ticking along so you can keep producing champion horses. The idea here is great and it is certainly in-depth, but it does take a while to get your head around it all.

Like An Anime Visual Novel

Visually, I like what they have done here with Winning Post 9 2021. It has a kind of visual novel style about it that I really do like. The character models have a bit of an anime look about them, but the horses are done in a more realistic way. While I checked the game out on the PlayStation 4, the PC version I have heard looks the best. The game is also on the Nintendo Switch and to be honest, given the art style they have gone for here, I do not see why the Switch would struggle to look as good as the other two versions.

Pros:

• I liked the visual presentation of the game
• The way you can run a ranch is cool
• It is pretty neat the way you get to select a year to start your game in
• For horse racing fans, this game has a ton to offer

Cons:

• You probably do need to be a horse racing fan to get the most out of this
• There is a lot to get your head around here
