If your dreams usually involve absurd amounts of money and amassing the world’s largest, most exaggerated fortune, then AdVenture Capitalist is here to make your dreams come true. It won’t make you richer just by playing, but, at the very least, you can accrue an immense virtual fortune, as you navigate the trials and tribulations of becoming a filthy rich business mogul.
AdVenture Capitalist is an idle clicker – one of those games that essentially need no input from the player to make progress – with loads of personality and an insanely addictive gameplay loop. You’ll be raking in the profits in no time, thanks to the game’s charming presentation and easy-to-understand gameplay mechanics.
Bring on the Big Bucks
Just as the name might suggest, AdVenture Capitalist is a game all about the adventure of going from rags to riches. The best part of it all? You hardly have to move a finger to make some cash in this highly addictive game.
Much like the famous Cookie Clicker, AdVenture Capitalist is about seeing numbers grow, with as little player input as possible. It might sound like a mindless diversion to some players that are looking for a more intense challenge from their games, but there’s still an innate appeal to AdVenture Capitalist’s gameplay loop that’s tough to match.
You begin your journey from humble beginnings. The game relies on the player to build more and more profitable businesses that can net them more money in the long run. For instance, you might begin your adventure with just a lemonade stand, but diversifying your sources of income might prove to be the ultimate tool in your quest to become the best tycoon there ever was.
Like almost everything else about the game, AdVenture Capitalist’s art style uses a combination of retro art and ironic messaging to deliver an experience that seeks to emulate the political cartoons of the fifties. In essence, the game looks as if Fallout Shelter was all about the money, instead of the whole “surviving in a nuclear wasteland” part of the game.
Still, the presentation alone remains minimal throughout the game. As we mentioned before, AdVenture Capitalist is a game that’s all about watching numbers get bigger, demanding little input from players. In that sense, you can even play the game minimized while you attend to other tasks: you won’t be missing much, really.
All in all, AdVenture Capitalist is a game that certainly has its niche. It might appeal to the more casual crowd: players that are looking for an easy game to unwind with – perhaps something that might not challenge their skills too much.
On the other hand, the more hardcore gamers out there might still get a kick out of AdVenture Capitalist. The lack of any real gameplay means that players can play this game in the background while they are playing other, more demanding titles. The free price tag is also something worth pointing out, as it only makes the deal that much sweeter.
For what it is, AdVenture Capitalist delivers fun in spades. Demanding very little from the player but rewarding them with hours of entertainment.
- Minimal gameplay means that the game can be played in the background of other titles
- Immensely satisfying gameplay loop
- Charming art style and overall presentation
- Might get a bit repetitive after a while
