Godfall Ultimate Edition

Godfall Ultimate Edition gives players the opportunity to benefit from every single update and content addition added to the original game ever. This includes a major expansion, as well as several other updates from the original launch. This is huge for those who want to get into the game without having to download a bunch of stuff or buy additional expansion packs—but is Godfall Ultimate Edition worth it?

Story still needs improvement

In the original Godfall release, a big complaint from players was a story in desperate need for improvement. The story is about you, a fallen king named Orin, facing off against your evil brother Macron. This is covered in the opening cinematic, and does the bare minimum to establish the storyline. It doesn’t develop much from there. It’s very similar in a lot of ways to Warframe, with a lot of level options and missions, and not much story to explain it.

Great graphics but lots of repetition

Godfall Ultimate Edition has some beautiful graphics that are satisfying to look at, but this is often buried under the sheer repetition of the game. In the original, the map felt repetitive, fights took forever, and there was some major issues with the storyline that simply didn’t feel realistic.

In the Godfall Ultimate Edition version, you get the “Exalted” update, which tweaks the story and combat to try and make things go more smoothly. The result is faster combat, and some mildly interesting storyline changes—but nothing earthshaking.

New End Game Content

Godfall Ultimate Edition truly listened to their fans here and provided a lot of end game content for players to enjoy. The game now offers a new section called the “Spirit Realms,” where players can do co-op missions together. These missions allow you to collect new loot, and also let you boost enemy level and thus rewards as you progress in the new content.

The game offers well balanced challenge to reward, and does this aspect of gameplay very well. As an added boost, the game has an option to let you start with a level 50 character, so if you’d rather jump straight to the new end game content you won’t have to repeat all the beginner content to get there.

Lots of customization available

One major positive the new edition creates is the ability to tweak your character in a vast number of different ways. If you’re looking forward to customizing a character in a thousand new ways, you’ll be satisfied with the options available for this game.
