Parkasaurus

If you have always dreamed about owning your own version of Jurassic Park but either you do not want to risk the velociraptors or you do not have an empty can of shaving cream to help you get started, then Parkasaurus might be where you need to start your journey. Similar to beloved games like RollerCoaster Tycoon, this tycoon management simulation brings dinosaurs to life and puts them right into your care. With park customization and many different dinos to unlock, it is easy to see what makes this game so attractive and addicting.

Visuals

The art style mimics any other tycoon game you have run across in your life, with cartoonish everything and what can sometimes feel like limitless customization to the player.

The visuals from one park to another can be so diverse and vary so much even within one park’s different sections, that to someone without a detailed eye or knack for organization and creativity can easily become overwhelmed at the options and task of creating an aesthetically pleasing park. The bright colors and animated nature of the game make it appeal to younger kids as everything stands out on its own, making the entire screen engaging all at once.

Gameplay

While many can outgrow the tycoon styled game and move to a more “sophisticated” version of the same play style found in sandbox games like Minecraft or slightly looser tycoon games like Animal Crossing, there is one thing that no person can grow out of: dinosaurs. The party animals of the Stone Age have not left the mind of anyone that they have entered and adults who find their interests similar to Ross from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. would have a blast playing this game, bringing their paleontological interests to life before their eyes. To everyone else, dinos are just about as cool as it gets, and having a park full of them as your pet will certainly amaze anyone. The dinosaurs are all cute and have their own little unique things about them, which will easily make each one personal to the player while they become attached to the digital dinos roaming their park. To accommodate the beasts around the park and the park visitors, the true task of the player is to make an enjoyable experience for tourists and a nice living environment for the dinosaurs. Being able to make themed enclosures, sections, and specific attractions, the player can organize, add, reorganize, and continue an endless cycle of customization to make the best dino park known to man.

Compatibility

The game is available on Steam for PC, without controller support. The great thing about this game is that it requires no accuracy, reactions, or skill based gameplay, so a controller would really never be needed. Furthermore, the simplicity of the game allows virtually any computer to run the game. A laptop can be used to play on the go, instead of having to sit down at a gaming rig like many computer games (even the lower end ones) require now.

The game is only single-player, but if we are being honest, who would want a second person messing up their park anyway? The game is still active with a recent Halloween update adding some spice to the mix and keeping the game interesting, so it will not get too dull or repetitive.
