There is not much in the way of gameplay on offer here, but the way that this manages to help you relax and just feel good is honestly, hard to put into words. This is the kind of game that you truly do have to fire up and experience for yourself to understand why so many people, all over the world have fallen in love with this.

A Ducking Good Time

There is no story at play here at all in Placid Plastic Duck Simulator. The setting for the game is a backyard pool, well technically, it is two pools. Anyway, the game has you playing the role of a little plastic duck, the type that are popular in bath rooms. Your only mission in life is to just float and take in the scenery. This is a game that is just all about you getting into a relaxed state of mind and the way that the game does it is way beyond my comprehension, but it does it!

What The Duck!

The way that your duck floats in Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is really relaxing, but there is also a little bit of excitement at play here too. There are tons and I mean tons of different ducks that will drop from the sky and enter the pools and then float in their own way. These ducks range from one with a top hat to one who looks like a real gentleman to ones that have really funky colors. Seeing all the ducks float, bump into each other, go down the slide and so on is just a very unique and zen like experience. This is a great game to play after a really crappy day at work, dealing with peoples BS!

Duck Me? Duck You!

The game has a fantastic look about it, the whole thing is just so relaxing and while the main draw of Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is of course, the ducks. However, the location is just eye candy as far as you can see. There is an ocean in the distance and when I saw a pod of dolphins playing around, I nearly lost it! A freaking plane flew over at one point too. Just when you think you have taken it all in, something else will catch your eye. The day and night cycle is done so well and when that shift happens, it can make you yawn or even fill you with a little bit of hope. Sure, that may sound like I am overselling it, but as I said, you have to play this for yourself to appreciate what this offers.

Duck Tunes

The only downside to Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is the music which I highly recommend that you turn of. This is not the epic tunes like you would get in DuckTales on the NES! However, there is some wonderful ambient sounds in this game which with the floating of the ducks and the gentle waves in the pool, really does help you relax. The most relaxing sounds that the game has to offer happen when it turns to night and you can hear the cicadas in the distance.

• This is just a very chill experience

• The ambient sounds are good, but the music not so much
• There is no actual gameplay here

Choose your duck and your activities to supply the pool with even more ducks. Each duck will have its own style and even its own gameplay.
