While existing games are nice to play and reflect on, nothing gets the gaming community more hype than the release of a new game that they can all collectively agree is going to be the hot topic when it comes out. Project EVE is exactly that. First announced in April of 2019, fans have everything but forgotten about the game in development, constantly waiting for screenshots, rumors, leaks, and teasers, with a trailer recently coming out and causing the community to sit on the edge of their seat.
What We Know
In terms of what we actually know about the game, it is not a lot. The screenshots do the most work for the community, allowing them to appreciate how good the game looks, as that is half of what makes a good game, if not a little more. The main protagonist is an Asian woman set in a distant dystopian future. The unnamed lady seems to be equipped with a special suit, almost making her look robotic, as if she is a cyborg, but maybe it is just the fashion in those days.
The gameplay is set to be a dystopian future where humans are attempting to retake Earth from an alien invader. Not much information is given on the aliens themselves or just how the humans plan to take Earth back, but the devastated Earth scene teased in some of the screenshots is absolutely beautiful (once you get past the fact that billions of people died).
What We Think We Know
Project EVE is supposed to be an open world type game, so we imagine something similar to God of War, with a very distinct and memorable story line, but some freedom to explore and go deeper into the story if you wish. As of right now, Project EVE is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, the release date is still unannounced, causing the great waiting tension among the hopeful fans of the development. What We Hope For
As a single player action RPG, it needs a deeply developed story in order to keep players engaged. Being modeled after the likes of God of War, we hope it will be similar in this aspect, as that is something memorable from our time with Kratos. Being teased with some of the battle mechanics as well, we can only hope it feel as cool as it looks, again mimicking battle styles of God of War, Dark Souls, and other third person semi-open world games, with not too much intensity in battle playing, but enough to stay engaged.
While it is hard to give an actual rating to a game that is yet to be released or played by the public, I can give a rating for what I expect and hope for. If Project EVE lives up to the hype it has created, it will be hard for it to get anything under an 8/10, but because it looks so beautiful and reclaiming Earth is typically an unseen story for semi-open worlds, I will bump it to a 9/10. Here’s to hoping the fans are not disappointed.
