Bayonetta 3

Everyone's favorite little witch has been lurking in the shadows for quite some time - but fear not. Developers Platinum Games have confirmed that Bayonetta 3 is happening! Sooner rather than later, we'll be able to revel in the stylish hack-and-slash joy brought to us over two games of fun-filled mayhem. We just don't have a release date yet.

What we do know is that it isn't a canceled project as initially rumored. We have been treated to a teaser trailer and a couple of developments. That's all we have about what we can expect from the game. Little since has been officially detailed, but we've compiled a small article to set the foundations of the ethereal journey to come.

Shoes That Can Kill

What can we take away from that trailer that's less than a minute long? Well, not a whole lot, really. There isn't much indication of the narrative, nor a world detailing. We do understand that Bayonetta 3 is going to be just as flash as the other two games. The colorful visuals and fast-paced combat style still protrude the teaser, albeit delivered in an avant-garde fashion.

Considering the predecessors followed similar combat style and mechanics - we can expect the same in the third offering. Those bullet-ridden shoes will be back to force hordes of enemies back from they came. It is Platinum Games behind the helm, after all, so we won't expect much more than their traditional-yet-engaging hack-and-slash applications.

Even though the story arc of Bayonetta 2 was somewhat closed - we can expect a continuation of the franchise as a successor. Unless there is a wild change in story direction, there will be a follow-up to the same universe tapping into the lore of Bayonetta. The core of the game was the brilliant storyline paired with the eye-popping visuals. The critical acclaim means probably more of that!

Not much was wrong or broken with the predecessor. That notion makes it more difficult to predict what Bayonetta 3 will offer. We are sure of another refined and intriguing hack-and-slash classic, though. The franchise's success means that developers will be taking their sweet time on the game to make sure it's right.

Third Time's the Charm

It's safe to say that we are all looking forward to Bayonetta 3 - the trouble is we don't know enough about it! The game is poised for a 2021 release, so it shouldn't be too long before we enjoy the detail. If Platinum Games' recent releases are anything to go by - we will be in for a treat.
