Dragon Cliff review is a pixelated game that brings back memories of 90s arcades. The old school artwork and turn based fighting style is definitely a reminder of past gaming, but Dragon Cliff works all on its own as a fresh game to keep players entertained.
The game opens with you, the “lord” of a village, in control of characters who must go off on adventures. You can get anything from a drunk reader to a killer as your characters for adventuring. Fights are automatic, but you can throw in rage points if you want to participate in the fight.
Fast, easy fun
The game is automatic in a lot of ways. You gain resources as you find things, and those resources go to helping your village. The village will grow and develop on its own. There’s endless room for grinding and optimization in the game, but you can also essentially leave it alone and come back later to see how things going.
Dragon Cliff is an idle type game meant for casual, long term play. Think of it like Adventurer Manager, but with a longer storyline that unravels slowly over about 26 hours. While 26 hours is about how long it takes to finish the story line, many players have reported spending 90+ hours in the game and still feel like there is more to do.
Unlimited customization options
While the game can pretty much run itself, you can intervene at any time. This allows you the freedom to check in without painful punishments for not being vested in the game, or spend as much time as you want deep diving into the story. One of the best features of the game for taking control is the customization of your party. New characters filter into your village through the Inn. These include both new types of characters with new skills, and variations on old skills. You might, for example, already have a Palidan but a new one comes in with better stats.
Choosing who to invest your time and resources in is a big part of the game, and allows it to be more fun and engaging. At the same time, you’re not chained to the game to make things happen. You can send adventurers out on their own to quest, or go with them. The village will develop whether you are there or not, but you can guide how it goes.
If you don’t have a lot of time for gaming and just want something you can play casually, Dragon Cliff is an entertaining, light game that is priced just right for the value offered. You’ll never feel pressured to sit in the computer chair when you’d rather be doing something else. Instead, Dragon Cliff offers a great balance between entertaining storyline and investment in the game. You decide how much time you want to spend playing, and the game will accommodate your needs.

- Perfect for casual gaming
