Evil Dead: The Game

You have no idea how excited I am for Evil Dead: The Game. I am a massive fan of the franchise and to be fair, I think that the games based on the movies that have come before are actually far better than people give them credit for. I thought that I would break out the boomstick get groovy and have a look at why this is looking like it is going to be one of my top games of 2022.

The Gang Is All Here!

This is a multiplayer game where you can play with your buddies or against them! The idea of Evil Dead: The Game is that we have Ash and some more iconic characters from the movies and the TV show. As well as being able to play as Ash, Scotty, Lord Arthur, Kelly and many more are going to be playable. They have even managed to get some of the actors to reprise their roles. This is looking like it is going to be the most authentic Evil Dead game yet.

Goody Little Two Shoes!

I have to say that the first time I play Evil Dead: The Game I better be able to play as freaking Ash! While it is great to play as one of the heroes as you move around the maps trying to find pages from the Necronomicon, supplies, and other lore-based stuff to put the Kandorian demon back in his place! You can also take control of the Kandorian Demon and here you can possess Deadites, survivors, and even the environment.

Groovy And Bloody!

The game looks completely over the top and that is exactly what I want from something that is called, Evil Dead: The Game! There are some crazy kills that you can do in this game, ranging from slicing someone up with a chainsaw to giving a Deadite a “haircut” with a shovel. There are tons of over the top things going on and a whole lot of blood as you would expect from something that has the Evil Dead name on it.

Sealing The Breach!

The idea of the game is that you play as a team of four and you are looking to close the seal between the worlds that are putting mankind in danger! You have over 20 weapons that you can use as you go and you need to find all of the items to close the seal. It is very similar to games like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th and to be honest with you that is exactly what I was expecting. I think the Evil Dead styling here that it gives the game its own personality.

I was so stoked when they showed off Evil Dead: The Game for the first time. From the Bruce Campbell narration to the crazy kills that they showed off.

Pros:

• This feels very authentic to the Evil Dead franchise
• There are many different crazy weapons to use
• You can play as the demon too!
• It is the kind of game that is sure to get a lot of laughs when played with your friends

Cons:

• I have not heard if there is going to be a campaign of any kind here
• Is it going to be hard to get into a game where you can play as Ash?
