What I think makes Gladio Mori such a cool fighting game is that it can be as deep as you want it to be. You can just jump in and play with the pre-made assets and have fun doing that. You can download stuff that other people have made and use that or, you can get super in-depth and customize your own move sets down to the most minute detail! There is truly something for everyone here and I feel that a huge part of the fun here is going to be testing your creations against other people.

Rag Doll Living In A Movie

You know, I am pretty sure there is no other online game reviewer that references Aerosmith as much as I do in their game reviews! Gladio Mori is a rag doll physics based fighting game where killing your enemy is the aim of the game. It is all about one one-on-one gladiator style battles where you test your setup against that of another player. The twist here is that the game is ultra-realistic. Armor cannot just be slashed through; you have to find the weak point. If you cut or damage an opponent’s muscle, that body part becomes weak and hard to use. If you cut an artery, they will bleed out and if you hit a vital organ like the heart or brain, it can be instant death!

Going As Deep As You Want To

You can just pick a rag doll, select your armor, weapon, and shield, and get to fighting. The game is in 3D and it can take a while to get used to the basic controls. I would advise just jumping in with a sword and trying to get a hang of the controls before you start tinkering with the various customization options. There are many different basic options that you can tinker with here as you put together your own gladiator. However, this game is going to be very community based and you can download stuff that other people have made if you are not into customizing and dealing with trial and error as you tinker with different pieces to make something unique.

Just A Little Bit Higher Please

The crazy thing about Gladio Mori is that you can tinker with the animations. No exaggeration here, you can make it so a sword strike goes just a little higher or that a spear jab goes super low and fast to target the knee. It is insane the level of detail here in how you can decide how and where a strike will land. This is good because some armor sets are super hard to deal with and only have some specific openings for you to hit. I get that this deep level of customization is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but there is one area where I think this is going to be huge!

With Friends Like These!

You can screw around with an AI opponent and that is a great training tool. However, the real meat and potatoes of Gladio Mori is going to be testing your creations against other players. I have a group of friends and each Thursday (life and family get in the way of gaming as you get older) we have a multiplayer game night and this game is going to be a huge part of that when it is finally released. We are all excited to make our own little rag doll gladiators and test them against each other. Learning how each other's rag dolls work, looking for weaknesses, and so on. I can see this being fun and super competitive with people who like to play online with their friends.

Pros:

• The level of customization here is insane
• You can even tinker with the animations
• Your weapons, armor, and shields really do matter
• This is going to be so much fun for multiplayer gaming sessions!

Cons:

• As I write this it has no release date
• I do feel you have to get into the deep customization to get the most out of it

Gladio Mori is an unusual three-dimensional sandbox that can realize all your dreams of duels on the battlefields. Participate in duels with bots or with real players, choose weapons and armor to your liking. If you are tired of fighting, you can try your hand at three-dimensional animation. Animate and introduce new moves into the game, or fully recreate one of your favorite fights from the media.
