Welcome to Insatia! Have you ever wondered what its like to be a worm? Well, wonder no more as Insatia has you covered. Jump into the fray with this intriguing title that begs the question; who is the strongest worm? This carnivorous worm simulator has a charming atmosphere filled to the brim of creepy crawly cannibalism. You must utilize the age-old tactics of run and live, or fight and eat. Think you got what it takes to be the biggest, baddest worm on the planet? Time to show the others what you’re made of. Let’s get into it.

Gameplay

So, this game functions like an upgraded version of Snake, if you remember that game. But instead of eating a dot and trying not to eat your own tail, you’re trying to eat everything in your vicinity without letting yourself get munched. There are a few mechanics at play here, you can turn left and right, jump and utilize some extreme maneuverability to out perform other worms, but the bigger you get, the harder it becomes to move. Staying on top of the game is actually quite hard, and provides a surprising challenge that I wasn’t expecting from this angry worm simulator.

There are at least 14 game types in this title, all of which are tremendous fun. I don’t want to spoil too much but my favorite is where you don’t play as a worm, and play as a grub instead. You have to spend all your time avoiding the other worms who are out to get you. It’s all in good fun of course, but there is something utterly hilarious in playing this in multiplayer and having all your friends try to eat you. I regularly found myself in fits of laughter throughout playing Insatia. It gives off Stick Fight: The Game vibes with its creative level design.

Visuals

The visuals of the game are also pretty great. Everything looks clean and well presented, regardless of the power or upgrade your worm has, it all remains clear to see and doesn’t feel oversaturated with visual stimuli. Everything looks crisp and clean throughout.

If you are playing with a younger audience or perhaps one that is a little squeamish, you can change the settings so the blood all comes up in a more neutral color, preventing anyone from having a tough time with gore. It’s a small consideration but its one many are glad they made.

Customizable Maps

The maps in this game are extensive, but the best part about it is that you can create your own maps if you want to. Create and upload as many maps that are as complex or simple as you like and have your friends play them. Download a bunch as well, that way you can enjoy so many more hours of gameplay than you would have initially expected to.
