LEGO Builder’s Journey is an adorable puzzle game that’s so much fun to play. If you grew up with LEGO, you’re going to absolutely love playing this game because every level is made using beautiful virtual LEGO bricks. Without further ado, let me tell you a bit more about this masterpiece of a puzzle game.

Bitesize level sections

LEGO Builder’s Journey has levels that take place across small compact sections. Each section is unique and has something new for you to do in it to help your character progress, whether that be solving a carefully crafted LEGO puzzle or building a LEGO bridge to cross a deadly gap. Ever played Monument Valley or Captain Toad Treasure Tracker? Imagine levels like the ones you find in those games, but made entirely from LEGO.

Excellent graphics and ray-tracing

One of the best things about this game is how realistic everything looks thanks to the beautiful rendering and ray-tracing. The developers didn’t have to go this hard with the graphics, but they did, and it really paid off. I never get bored of how incredible this game looks. Every single LEGO brick looks like the real thing, and you even get unique animations in the environments to help give the world a bit more life. The LEGO water is made to look like it’s flowing, and you even get bubbles forming in mud puddles in the swampy environments. How cool is that?

The puzzles

Though there’s nothing in the game telling you what you need to do to solve the puzzles, it’s usually easy enough to figure out what to do. You’re typically given a bunch of blocks to work with, so just think about what the game wants you to do based on the surroundings and take a crack at the puzzle! Trial and error is a big part of this game, so do what you think is right, and if it goes wrong, you can move the LEGO bricks around and try again.

A relaxing experience

LEGO Builder’s Journey is supposed to be calm and relaxing, so don’t worry about any major stresses in the game. You get to take things at your own pace, so enjoy it! To make things even better, the game has an excellent soundtrack, too, to help you feel immersed in the blocky world. From the graphics to the gameplay and soundtrack, everything ties together nicely and it’s no wonder this game has won multiple awards.

• Some level sections are a bit too easy, so if you’re looking for a challenge, you may be disappointed at times
