As I write this Nirvana Game Of Life is still being touted as a beta so that is something for you to keep in mind. This is a mobile game that is free to play so really you have nothing to lose checking it out. As you would expect you can “pay” for things in this game, but I never spent a penny and I feel that I was able to pretty much see all that the game had to offer.
The Circle of Life
It was the premise of the game that actually made me make the effort to give this game a chance. The idea of the game is that you are playing as a soul and you are looking for your way to Nirvana. On the way, you get to live many different lives and experience new and exciting, strange, scary experiences.
Indie By Nature
Nirvana Game Of Life is an indie game and it very much has that “indie” look to it. I like the retro style that they have gone for with this game and some of the “lives” that you will be living through do have a lot of imagination to them. As you go from life to life you will be living as many different things such as a superhero, an assassin, and even a magical wizard! There is a great deal of imagination here and I do like a lot of the humor that the game has to offer.
Life Is A Game Of Choices!
The “gameplay” that is on offer is rather shallow, but this is a mobile game that is meant to be played in quick bursts so I can kind of overlook it. You have to make a serious of decisions that will affect the life you are currently living in. Will you get married? Will you turn into a zombie? Will you get murdered? Will you live a long and happy life? Well, that is all up to the choices you make while playing Nirvana Game Of Life.
The game will throw a choice your way for example when you play as the assassin, you might have to make a split decision where you can dodge or fight. If you chose the right one, you live on, if you do not you die! The game is rather fast-paced and I liked that, but many of the choices felt like they repeated at a much quicker rate than you would think. Also, sometimes it felt like no matter what choice I would make the game would kill me which was frustrating. Speaking of frustrating, this game has a lot of bugs! What makes these bugs extra annoying is when they happen due to an advertisement that pops up. On more occasions than I care to count, an ad would pop up and I would have to restart my game for no reason at all.
I think that the idea of Nirvana Game Of Life is great. The way the game has a rather retro style to it as well is something that I like. The humor that is in this game is pretty fun too, in all there are some great ideas for a solid game here, but it just feels like it is lacking in content. This along with the bugs and unfair deaths led to me getting frustrated with the game more often than not. Still, as it is free to play it is worth having a look at.
