SILENT DOOM

One game that I have not heard a lot of people talk about is SILENT DOOM. If you love first-person shooters then I think this is a game that may interest you. With a dark and horrific setting and story, it is a shooter that has many old-school elements and I am kind of surprised that more people are not paying attention to this. As of writing, this is an early access game and there is no clear indication of when it will be fully released, so please keep that in mind going forward.

You Have Awoken In Hell

Not a great deal has been said about the plot, but SILENT DOOM has the whole, waking up in a strange place thing going on and that is cool. Only, this is not just a strange place! It is a horrific nightmare that you have awoken in and an immortal demon is hot on your heels and wants your soul.

The plot of the game has you needing to avoid the demon while you hunt for the right supplies so that you can conduct a ritual that will take away these demons’ power so that you can destroy him. It is pretty cool stuff and the kind of thing that you would get in a budget horror movie.

Will You Be Able To “Outlast” The Monsters!

The aesthetic of SILENT DOOM is something that I really like and I feel we have a real mixture of styles here. I would say that the game reminds me of Outlast, The Evil Within, Silent Hill, and a little bit of the reboot Blair Witch movie we got a couple of years back. Everything here is dark, moody, scary, and disturbing and it is so well done that you will never want to just burst into a room because you will be scared of what lays in wait. The “creatures” that you will be fighting off in the game are some real nightmare fuel and in all, I just think they have created a really cool horror world with this game. right from the start, you know that this is a messed-up place!

Surviving Is The Key

The gameplay on offer in SILENT DOOM sounds pretty fun. You will be exploring this hellscape all the while blowing away anything that comes your way. You will need to run and hide from the main demon and there are also some puzzles that you will have to solve while you are on this dangerous quest to save your soul.

This is a game with permadeath so if you die, it is game over and you must start again. This along with the randomly generated nature of the game world makes it a game that is going to be challenging, but also a fresh experience each time you play.

Pros:

• I love the nightmare setting of the game
• That demon is creepy as hell
• This game is going to be very challenging
• It is the kind of game that will keep you on your toes

Cons:

• Not sure if there will be a reason to play the game multiple times
• No word on when this is actually going to be finished
