The Sims Deluxe Edition
Have you ever had an overwhelming desire to play God? Well, I have good news for you! The Sims Deluxe Edition gives you that chance. The Deluxe Edition contains original Sims, as well as the Livin' Large Expansion Pack and Sims Creator, a new program. The combination of these three great Sims pieces make for one extremely fun and exciting puzzle.
If you have not played the Sims before here is a basic run down of what you do: Start the game by either picking a family or create your own, then pick a place to live, and assuming you have a little money left, furnish your extremely humble abode. The advantage the Deluxe Edition has at this very early stage of the game is that you can create your family from scratch. You can literally pick their body, head, clothes, even shoes and jewelry.
The next thing you have to do is try to find a job, unless you are playing as a preset family (some of those characters already have jobs). You can look in the paper but be careful about which jobs you take; some are quite lucrative while others will get you nothing but wasted time. The hardest thing at this stage of the game is getting a feel for how long it takes to do things around the house. Things aren't done in the same amount of time as real life. Sometimes making a walk from the bathroom to the kitchen can take 5 minutes!!
But time definitely flies in real life when you play this game. I thought I had been playing for maybe an hour or so the other night and it was actually about five. If you are in school and doing homework, make sure you get it done before you start playing. I've had to remind myself of that a few times. All in all though, this game definitely has a little something for everybody. The characters are fun, the gameplay is easy to learn, and the music is really uplifting. You'll find your foot tapping and a smile on your face every time you play.
