Gameplay

In Witch It, you’ll either player as a Hunter or a Witch. As a Hunter, you’ll be tasked with finding a Witch. You may not have magic, but your physical prowess is uncontested. Looking out for witches will have you exploring every nook and cranny possible. This is due to one simple fact: unlike Hide and Seek with humans, Hide and Seek with witches is a game where your target turns into objects, rather than hide under them. You’ll get to hurl pumpkins at enemies as your default attack. Certain mechanics are pretty similar to Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game, but Witch It still has its own unique quirks that make it stand out.

In search of witches, you’ll get more tools at your disposal the more you play. These items make the experience of playing as a hunter more interesting as you’ll gain new abilities that allow you to use magic blockers, stopping the use of magic within certain areas. You’ll also be able to set traps that can catch those pesky witches off guard. Although playing as a hunter has its merits, the real action is when you get to control a witch. In this game, playing as the witch makes for an exhilarating experience. As a witch, you’ll need to find a suitable hiding space to avoid getting spotted by a hunter. Each of the levels in the game has props that are cluttered around, and you can turn into one. You can stay as an object, but you’ve gotta be careful because the hunters are watching. Escaping can be especially tricky as a moving object is kind of suspicious.

In addition to their transformations, witches can fly and drop decoys of themselves, throw toxic mushrooms that can stun hunters and more. As you gain experience, more skills will become available. If you are found and defeated, it isn’t immediately game over. Instead, you’ll be able to turn into a hunter and finish hunting down the remaining witches you come across.

Competitive at its core

Witch It is a highly enjoyable competitive experience that has you right in the thick of it from the start. With all its fun gameplay and enjoyable merits, there is a cheater problem. Witch It is somewhat compromised because a lot of the hunters seem to be using cheats to get witch players off guard. Even with that problem, the best way to mitigate it would be by playing strictly with friends online. This way, everyone has a fun time.
