Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel

Do you like to be scared? Do you like to watch someone being scared? Then, maybe the new proposal from the Brazilian studio Pulsatrix Studios will interest you. FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel is their most recently announced game, and it is nothing more and nothing less than a game with a clear premise: to break schemes.

FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel will be released in 2022 for almost all platforms. Specifically, it will do so for Playstation 4 and 5, for Xbox One, for Xbox Series X|S, and for PC through Steam, where, by the way, it already has a playable Demo. But what makes this indie title different? Well, let’s talk about it.

About the game

In the words of its own developers, FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel is an immersive journey of suspense and investigation that begins in a decadent hotel dominated by a technologically advanced sect. Thus, in the shoes of Roberto, a journalist, on a journey in search of the truth, the player will have to explore the different worlds using a camera, he will have to defend himself from the monstrous creatures that lurk in the corridors of the hotel and fight for his survival.

Roberto soon realizes that his investigation is uncovering something much bigger, and darker, than he could have imagined. Past, present and future collide in a scenario full of puzzles, mysteries and conspiracies. And, of course, all of this with a horror component that can be clearly seen in its presentation video.

The fact that the game has us playing as a journalist trapped inside a spooky place may not be completely original, as we’ve seen it many times before. But remember that even though two things have similar concepts doesn’t mean they are the same thing. One of the most popular horror games with this theme is Outlast, and its sequels. And we know just how scary those games are, but does FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel get to that level?

The full game is still not completely released, but we already have some of the most relevant aspects of the game you can look forward to.

First of all, we should mention that, as with any other adventure game, the story will be at the forefront in order for us to understand the context of everything that happens within. The main character, Roberto, has been called to investigate something about the hotel. Something that leads him to believe that there are darker secrets behind the place. As in any good horror game, the story will revolve around the protagonist trying to escape and survive in a creepy environment filled with the dark unknown.

• Explore a grand hotel - Unreal Engine provides frighteningly realistic settings for this first-person horror experience.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel is a crazy game, that takes on a great twist for the survival horror genre. It has a lot of good things going on- While the visual elements of the game can be improved and so does a lot of the technical part of the game (especially in terms of performance), the story is something that really stands out.
