With so many tension filled action games out there, finding a game you can just relax in while still being entertained is hard. Luckily, the Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Edition is out, and ready to let you kick back for a peaceful day of flying. The new update for the 40th Anniversary Edition isn’t anything to sneeze at either. The new update is huge and includes some of fan’s most requested additions. If you loved previous versions of this game, you’re going to be wild about this new version.
Helicopters Added
One of the biggest updates to this game is the edition of hang gliders and helicopters. It turns out, the addition of helicopters sent developers back to the drawing board for a long time, because helicopters fly completely differently from airplanes.
It took the company 6 months and over 20 people to figure out how to add realistic helicopter flight to the game, but thanks to their hard work you can now enjoy helicopters in Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition.
Limited Tutorials
If you’re new to flying helicopters, you might find flying them in the game a bit more challenging than usual. In an effort to get these helicopters to players in a timely fashion, there wasn’t a lot of time available to the developers to also make tutorials. Luckily, assistive flying programs in the game do make it a bit easier to learn by trial and error.
New Tech Supported
A big part of enjoying flight simulations starts at home. Many players make their own cockpits at home with custom pedals, joysticks, and other mods to help make the flight simulators even more realistic. The developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition worked hard to add many more popular peripherals like Turtlebeach's VelocityOne FlightStick, Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls, and the Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick X now officially supported.
On top of this, many common errors from previous versions of the game have been fixed, and new hardware supported. You can expect fewer crashes and a smoother gaming experience with these important hardware updates.
New and Old Airports Added
On top of a huge number of new aircraft and a smoother gaming experience, the game has also added several new landing locations. One of them was an old airport back by popular demand, Meigs Field, a now closed airport that was a feature in an older version of the game.
Princess Juliana Airport in the Caribbean along with the notoriously difficult Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong. These are just some of the many updates added to this incredible game.
Microsoft has truly outdone themselves with this new update for the game. There are so many updates and improvements to the game, it would be difficult to cover them all in one review. If you love flying simulators and want a ton of new gameplay, this new update is a must have.
